Chris Rock is set to star in this re-imagining of the 1975 Horror classic, an exciting spin on the tale of a killer shark who terrorizes a small coastal community.
“This series has always been about well-meaning white people putting the marginalized at risk” said Peele. “Because like a killer shark, racism often waits just beneath the surface.”
Peele will be executive producing the film. Funding and distribution will be handled by Universal Studios. Filming begins in November, with release planned for Summer of 2022. Steven Spielberg has declined to comment on this reboot of his famous horror franchise.
